Since 1972, HCA has recognized individuals within our company who demonstrate a level of commitment and caring. These individuals go beyond everyday acts of kindness and inspire us with their compassion, dedication and spirit.
The process of selecting our Frist Humanitarian Award recipients begins with you. We urge you to participate, as this is the highest honor our company bestows on its most important resource, our people.
Award Criteria
- All employees who work 32 hours or more weekly are eligible for the employee nomination.
- Any person volunteering eight hours or more per month is eligible for the volunteer nomination.
- All HCA-affiliated physicians, defined as an employee physician or any physician with medical staff privileges at an HCA hospital.
A nominee should be someone...
- Who demonstrates remarkable concern for the welfare and happiness of patients and has performed extraordinary acts of kindness, thereby contributing to the improvement of patient relations (not necessarily in the area of direct patient care)
- Who has demonstrated a level of commitment to community service beyond the daily operation of the facility that parallels their involvement to quality patient care
- Who has a positive effect on others
- Whose contributions may be overshadowed because of personal modesty and genuine humility
